Cool poster, although I'm gonna have to agree with 98.5% of the population who think it's a wee bit too soon for a "reboot". It's almost like Sony was that kid on the playground who gets mad when the other children won't play right with him and says "Fine, I'm gonna go do it MY way. Nyah!" and then goes and breaks your toys anyways.
I got the same reaction. I mean, isn't a reboot necessary when the movie does POORLY? Look at Ang Lee's "Hulk." The movie is like almost 2 hours and Banner doesn't turn into the Hulk until the last 40 minutes of the stinking movie! "The Incredible Hulk" was a must.
But the first two "Spiderman" movies were great, imo. True, Green Goblin was like a jacked up power ranger and "Spiderman 3" didn't do well, but I think the reboot is too soon, you know?
BTW, did you make this poster or was this distributed by Sony?
Yeah, I pretty much agree. And even though Spider-man 3 wasn't as good as it's predecessors, the 4th could've been an improvement. Just because of 1 not so good movie doesn't mean we need to completely start over.
And I made this. I use deviantart to post my work only.
Yeah, I guess Maguire could only play a teenager for so long. "OH NO! He has a wrinkle! REBOOT!" Still, they could've at least waited, I dunno, ten years or so. You should watch "ItsJustSomeRandomGuy" videos on Youtube. He does a lot of Marvel/DC movie stuff and your sides hurt so much from laughing so hard. He talked about this.
I have to admit, I've never been a fan of Sony. First Mariah Carey, then Michael Jackson, now this.
the actual reason is that raimi got tired of the studios, maguire followed, the plot was ridiculous as heck, and the movie crumbled... but i agree with you, sony could just recast, rewrite and get over it, but they suck unfortunatley... "ItsJustSomeRandomGuy" is awesome...
and they do... but allan cumming's the goblin, wich is kinda good... i'm enthutaistic about the reboot, though, because they have so many oppurtunities, like a newer villains (lizard, sandman and kraven maybe? and maybe electro, dr. octopus and green goblin? here's my cast:
-spidey:logan lerman/anton yelchin -MJ:emma stone -gwen stacey:amber heard -harry osborn:jeremy sumpter -dr. curt connors/lizard:jeffrey combs -kraven the hunter:russel crowe -j. jonah jameson:stephen lang -betty brant:michelle monhagan flash thompson:travus van winkle -norman osborn/green goblin:jason isaacs/daniel day-lewis/christoph waltz -dr. otto octavious/dr. octopus: phillip seymour hoffman/peter macnicol -max dillon/electro: kevin bacon -uncle ben:sam neill/albert finney -aunt may:frances conroy
Yeah I heard that Alan Cumming was going to be in it. Well, he IS one of my favorite actors (he kicked SO MUCH ASS as Nightcrawler!!!) and I just love his singing voice ("Reefer Madness" is a must!), so I GUESS it could happen.
I'm not too keen on many Spiderman villians, but I am kind of curious if they'll do Hobgoblin (or is that the same as Green Goblin?) or (hopefully) reboot Venom. Black Cat would be an interesting addition too...sure the boys won't complain.
Ooh, nice selection! I won't lie to you, though. It's gonna be hard seeing Spidey as someone other than Maguire. But then, I'm sure a lot of Batman fans went through the same thing...
IDK, my idea was that in the sequel, an A-hole scientist called otto octavious gets fired after miscalculating a big experiment. he's pissed off, so he invents the arms and goes berserk in the lab, trying to prove he's right. he's not, it blows up, he's now crippled and also a handy-man that was coincidentally in the lab, fixing something, gets electrouted to near death, leaving him with burns all over his body, but he discovers he can control electricity. meanwhile, otto snapsafter waking up and manipulated his arms so the lower ones will be used for walking and the upper ones will be a machine-gun/blade. also, why not foreshadow goblin in the 1st one and have him in the sequel, killing gwen? could be awesome... and also why not introduce eddie brock in the 2nd one so we will get him in the 3rd one?
And I got to agree with you on the Sony part. Being a huge Spidey fan, I'm trying to have some faith, but so far I think this is getting made ONLY for the money. I mean, I'm gonna wait until a few pictures and a trailer surfaces, but right now, it seems like they're just out for money.
